Expense Guidelines
CRA Chapter Representatives

According to the CRA Bylaws, each Chapter Representative shall adopt a structure that will facilitate communication among retirees residing in their geographical region. The Bylaws also state that the Chapter Representative is responsible for organizing activities and connections to help CUPE retirees feel part of their Association.

 The CRA will facilitate the Chapter Representative’s role by reimbursing reasonable, legitimate expenses for getting retirees together in each region.

The CRA Executive Committee acknowledges that regional coordination can be difficult in light of the vast distances between members in each region. Often the main event to meet with members each year is at the Division Conventions. However, there may well be other opportunities when CUPE retirees are going to be together and the Chapter Representative is able to meet with them.

The following expense guidelines are designed to assist the Chapter Representatives in carrying out their role:

  1. Chapter Reps should submit cost estimates for any meeting to the CRA Treasurer in advance of the proposed event. (Reasonable expenses could include tea and coffee, room rental.)
  1. Actual expenses incurred can be submitted (on a CRA Expense Form, with receipts) to the Treasurer for reimbursement after the event. Cash advances will be considered on request.
  1. Expenses for travel, accommodation, or meals are not reimbursable.
